Giltwood "Pareclose" Mirror (ref. DS0C-1501)

Description:

A French "pareclose" mirror with a large central beveled mirror surrounded by four separate mirrors on the top, bottom and sides. The giltwood frame has a ribbon twist pattern on the outer border and acanthus leaf decoration on each corner, and an inner border of beading. Connecting the four corners of the two frames is a large shield shaped section in gilt wood that covers the join between the pieces of mirror. The frame is surmounted by full relief birds and a cornucopia. Mirror retains the original glass and wood back.
